(Bill) Henderson, former "Trust Buster" under President Truman's Administration, Administra-tion, and now seeking the Democratic Demo-cratic nomination for Attorney I Ceneral in the primary election, pledged vigorous protection of J the public's interest if elected Attorney General. "Although the gubernatorial , candidates are the main attrac- , tion at the State primary, the Attorney General's functions directly di-rectly concern every member of the public. He defends for every '. householder when raids are made by utility companies seeking an increased utility rate before the Public Service Commission. He champions employee's rights in performance of his duty of enforcing en-forcing our Workmen's Compensation Compen-sation Laws. He stands guard over small business and free enterprise by enforcement of the state antitrust and other business regulatory laws. In all these vital functions the Attorney General plays the leading role. I pledge strong, vigorous and, continuing attention to these duties," said Mr. Henderson. Mr. Henderson, native Utahn, served as chief, Pacific Coast Office, U. S. Department of Justice, Jus-tice, Antitrust Division, in San Francisco. He made this statement state-ment at his campaign headquarters headquar-ters in Salt Lake City in a plea for public support at the forthcoming forth-coming primary election. "On September 13 the rank and file Democrats have an opportunity opportu-nity to show a strong Democratic Demo-cratic trend. But more important they have the great privilege and trust of selecting their party's nominees for office. They have the serious responsibility of nominating candidates with such backgrounds that they stand the best chance of bringing victory to the Democratic party in November. No-vember. "Only if there is a strong primary vote will there be a real Democratic choice of candidates. People who do not vote in the primary election have no right to be dissatisfied with who is elected to run on their ticket." |
