Show Utah Political Scene Remains Very Quiet Utah's political climate was serene this week, unruffled by announcements of candidacy for major offices and devoid of new names tossed about on a speculation specu-lation basis. Meanwhile the Democrats' only announced candidate for the Senate nomination, Salt Lake County Attorney Frank E. Moss, was quietly conducting his campaign cam-paign to line up delegate strength for the not-too-distant convention. conven-tion. Observers were agreed that Mr. Moss would have competition for the nomination. But they were not agreed on who would provide it. The same situation prevails in two races for nomination for the House of Representatives. No candidates have come forward in either of the state's two districts. On the Republican side things are equally quiet but for the opposite op-posite reason. Here there are candidates already in the field although un-announced. Incumbents Incum-bents Senator Arthur V. Watkins and Representatives Henry A. Dixon and William A. Dawson are regarded as sure things to seek re-election. |
