Show Democrat Senator Raps COP on Foreign Policy Democratic Senator Stuart Symington of Missouri this week charged that "for years it is obvious ob-vious we' have been given a foreign for-eign policy by the hunt and peck method. Sen. Symington, former member mem-ber of President Harry Truman's cabinet, spoke at a testimonial dinner given in his honor in Kansas City. He was introduced by Mr. Truman. The senator said Secretary of State' Dulles "has 10 fingers on the keyboard, but the touch system can't be used when the 10 fingers are all thumbs. ' "Time after time, we have been marched smack into a corner cor-ner which we could have avoided, avoid-ed, and then asked to be silent while an effort is made to back us out again. "The situation in the Straits of Formosa is merely the most recent re-cent example. We await with deep apprehension this latest excursion ex-cursion to the brink." |
