Show George Beckstead Announces For Sheriff Post iitei&i ill GEORGE BECKSTEAD George Beckstead, Salt Lake County Sheriff, announced this week he will seek re-election for a fourth term. He was the first to declare candidacy can-didacy for the office of Sheriff from either political party. Mr. Beckstead, veteran Salt Lake County law enforcement officer, has been elected to three terms, and in one election, was one of two successful candidates on the Democratic county ticket. A native of Salt Lake County, and educated in the Salt Lake schools, his announcement said he will seek re-election on the basis of his record and if reelected, re-elected, his future policy would be the same as it has been in the past, "to maintain an efficient and friendly office." Mr. Beckstead has been active j in a wide range of civic organizations organi-zations and movements, and one of his prime interests has been the promotion of sports programs pro-grams for youth in communities and in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
