Show NO FAKE THIS TIME. Charley Lange Smites one of Gallea-l's Deputies on the Jaw. Charley Lange, the gentleman who at one time made several thousand people of this city believe that he was a pugilist, had a dispute dis-pute with Galleazi's deputy today over the possession of the former's canine and it ended by the stalwart ex-policeman im- pinging on the deputy's jaw with his trusty right mauley. The sequel to the affair will he heard in the police court tomorrow morning, as the deputy has sworn to a complaint charging Lange with assault and battery. Friends of Lange state that the. &QZ-c&tcber &QZ-c&tcber got his just deserts, for, besides making himself obnoxious to others in the neighborhood, he was rude and threatening to Mrs. Lange when he invaded her premises in pursuit of the unlicensed canine. A Plumber in the Toils. Plumbing Inspector Lapsley hd a warrant war-rant is'sued today for the arrest of J. W. Farrell, the plumber, on a charge of violating violat-ing the city ordinance prescribing in what manner plumbing work shall be performed. The cause set forth is that Farrell, inexecut-ins inexecut-ins a contract in the residence of A. Raihapsky at 750 East Third South street, "made lead connections by bolted joints instead in-stead of 'wiped.' " Farrell, who by the way, is Lapsley's brother-in-law, will have a hearing tomorrow morning. The case is the opening gun in a campaign cam-paign which Lapsley has inaugurated against the plumbers who violate the law and several more will be called upon to answer to complaints within the next ! forty-eight hours. Cans Hite's Trial Set. Cass Hite, who on September 9, 1801, shot and killed Ado'.ph Kohler, has been notified that his second trial will be held at Provo on October 3. Hite, who is now in Denver with his brother, Colonel Ben R. Hite of Galves-tou, Galves-tou, Texas, says, he is confident that his next trial will result in his acquittal. He hopes to tret a change of venue to Salt Lake. Hite's many friends in Utah will be pleased to learn that he is making money fast in his mining operations in Eden canyon, Colo., and will shortly form a company to work the placers on a large scale.
