Show ORDINANCE REVISION. Work or the City Council ia that Direction Last Night. After a tedious wait last evening a quorum was finally secured for the city conncil and the wcrk of revising the ordinances was resumed. re-sumed. The dog ordinance was, after a great deal of canine discussion, adopted without change, and the solons then skipped back to the chapter on buildings. On motion of Simondi an amendment was ordered inserted to the effect that when any buildinr was condemned as a fire-trap, the fire inspector, building inspector and committee on fire department de-partment should be associated. The established estab-lished depth of cellars was increased from nine to ten feet, aud the building chapter jrave way to the important one on elections. This was also provocative of a great deal of discuesion, but it finally passed without chantre. An adjournment was then taken until 7:30 o'clock this evening, when sanitary and other important measures will be discussed. dis-cussed. THE POO LICENSE QUESTION". During the evening a delegation from the Kennel club made its appearance, and the spokesmau, W. II. Starbuck, was accorded the floor. He explained that they were desirous de-sirous of having the dog ordinance changed so as to have the license reduced from $3 to 1 if voluntarily paid; $2 if it had to be collected and 3 if the canine had to be impounded in order to bring the owner to terms. The delegation was informed that their petition would meet with consideration when the proper time arrived. |
