The hotel ' arrivals today were very slim compared with what they have been the past few weeks. The residence of Arthur Barnes was robbed Monday morning of a savings bank containing $15. Some of the master plumbers are after the official scalp of Plumbing Inspector Joseph Lapsley. The Cache county fair will be held at Logan on the 27th, 28th and 29th insts. Governor Thomas has been invited to take part in the opening parade of the World's Columbian exposition, to be escorted by the "Utah state militia." The governor hasn't smiled since the reference to militia was made. A meeting of the territorial Democratic central committee was held yesterday afternoon. after-noon. It was decided to hold the territorial Democratic contention at Provo on Wednesday, Wednes-day, October 5, beginning at 11 o'clock a. m. for tbe purpose of nominating a delegate to congress.
