Show IT NEVER RAINS. A Request a Day to Governor Thomas for Executive Clemency. Frank Pitts is the latest applicant to Governor Gov-ernor Thomas for executive clemency. Pitts is serving a five-months' sentence, attached to which is a $250 fine, in the - county jail, from the police court, on the charge of petit larceny. Pitts pleads earnestly with the governor for a pardon, and says, among other things, that he was sentenced more heavily'ln the police court than Judge Zane would have done. He says if forced to serve out his time that he will not be released re-leased before early in January of 1893, in the dead of winter, when work at his trade, machinist, is most slack, and allows the governor gov-ernor to draw the inference that liberty at that time of the year and under such conditions condi-tions would be an invitation to Pitts to return re-turn to criminal life. |
