Show A Strange Political Rumor in Circulation. Cir-culation. TO FUSE OR NOT TO FUSE IS THE QUESTION That Is Bothering- Democracy's Representatives, Rep-resentatives, THE LITTLE NAPOLEON OF UTAH CANNOT BE DOWNED Unless an Unholy Alliance Is Consummated Con-summated by the Free Trade Advocates Ad-vocates and the Liberal Forces A Plan Which, if True, Presents Some Interesting Food for Patriots to Reflect Upon An Olive Branch, to Be Extended to Boss Powers. The air was rife today with rumors of an important political move the Democrats are said to be contemplating. It appears that Ex-Governor Caleb West, one of the most astute political managers in the West, knew what he was doing when he sue- cceded in adjourning the recent Democratic Dem-ocratic convention without first nominating candidates for the county offices, and now, if what is heard is true, the rank and file will be let into the secret. The nomination of Cannon by the Republicans and the supposed sup-posed strength of the Liberals in this county places the representatives of the "trooly loll" . party between two fires, , and of the least of the two evils, to them, they are now seeking to choose the least. It is said, on seemingly good authority, that an olive branch will be extended to the Liberal managers with the request that they will not nominate a candidate for the office of delegate to congress. If they accept the political fight in this county will be waged between the three parties. If they refuse the Democrats will endeavor to fuse with the Republicans and make a doublo flxht on the Liberal forces in the expectation ex-pectation of routing them foot, horse and dragoons. The rumor cannot bow be traced to its fountain-head, but at the same time it is the principal theme for discussion on the rial to and in the haunts of politicians. ' , Cannon, It appears, is such a formidable k candidate that both, the . Democratic and Liberal managers are In a quandary as what is the best course to pursue to stem the tide I of the popular wave which is bearing the Little Napoleon of Utah on its proud crest ; to the national halls of legislation. ! Something is likely to drop of an official nature in the present week, i . . . - - |
