The committee to raise funds to contest the action of the territorial board of equalization equali-zation in the courts regarding the raise of the assessed valuation is meeting with success. suc-cess. The following paper was circulated yesterday and received the signatures at- j tached: To defray the expense of testing the legality of the increase in the territorial school ana county taxes for Salt Lake county, as made by the territorial terri-torial board of equalisation, and in consideration of being made parties to an ac ion to be commenced com-menced again xt the collector of Salt Lake county, restraining him from collecting said increased taxes, we each agree to pay 10 per cent of the amount that our respective taxes are rai-ed by such increased assessment, said payments to be made to William H. Shearman, treasurer of the committee appointed to take charge of the litigation, litiga-tion, npon demand, provided an amount is subscribed sub-scribed sufficient to pay the expense of such litigation, liti-gation, and any surpia to be returned pro rata to subscribers.
