Show GRANTSVJLLE GREW DEFEATS BINGHAM IN SLOW CONTEST Bingham high jchool cagers lost to the Grantsvilla Cowboys N last Tuesday evening by a score of 39-23. The locals were way off form ana wea- unable to stay in the running with the Cowboys. The Grantsville crew made 43 per cent of their field goals attempted, attempt-ed, while Bingham made but 16 per cent of their field goals. The Cowboys Cow-boys made 5 out of 13 free throws, compared with the 7 out of 28 trys gained from Miners' attempts. Joe Churi'ch, speedy little guard on the Bingham squad, was missing miss-ing from the lineup because of illness. ill-ness. He is expected back in the lineup Friday when Tooele plays hers on the Bingham court. According to Coach Warren AH- sop the team had a light practice Wednesday night and did not practice prac-tice Thursday evening. They are resting for the Tooele game. In the preliminary game played between Grantsville's sophomore team and Bingham's eighth ana ninth team the locals defeated the Cowboys 28-15. Alvarez and Teddy Tedesco played stellar ball for Bingham. Bing-ham. These two fellows play excei lently together and have a good eye for the basket. Bill Goris played good defensive game for the midget miners. |
