A private letter from Camp Kirwin, in the Wood River district, of Idaho, brings new s of the mining district of which that camp is the center. Camp Kirwin is situated in the Bl -bom- mountains. The nearest railroad point is Red Lodge, 110 miles away. All the prospecting in the district ha.s been above timber line, the veins cropping out from two to ten feet They are from two to twenty feet wide. The vein matter is ouartz with a sprinkling of spar end with porphyry for both foot and banging walls. The ore is mostly free mining. When placed in a common com-mon stove and heated it comes out covered with stiver buttons. The best assay up to date was 898 ounces silver a nd 10 in gold. This was from the surface. Lead a-says run as high as si per cent. Quite a number Of people are Hocking to the new district but there is nothing of a rush yet. Progressive Knehre. One of the pleasant social events of the Benson was given at the residence of the governor last vening by Mis: Ella Thomas, in honor of Lieutenant Kemburg and bride. The lieutenant is a nephew of the governor's and is on his way to the Bering to join the revenue cutter Rush. Progressive euchre wa- the game. The annual meeting of St. Mark's Parish was held last evening and the following otlicers elected: Senior Warden, Geo. M. Scott: Junior Warden, Geo. Y. Wallace, Vestrymen, May E.Wilkes, Col. M. M. Blunt, Leroy Manticld. Dr. Lorin Hall, E. C. Coliin, Graham, Putman and Theo. Mathis, all to serve for one year: delegates to the convocation from this parish, G. Y. Wallace, Col. M. M. Blunt, Maj E. Wilkes, E. C. Coffin, and J. B. Howard. Th convocation of delegates of all the Episcopal churches of Nevada and Utah will begin Wednesday, April 20, at the cathedral in this city and continue two days. Death of an Aged Lady, Mrs. Davidson, well-known in this city, but for some years a resident of Waaatch county, died at her home, at the advanced age of v2, on the 15th inst. Shortly before her death she requested Mr. James Burns and Mr. Stephen Thompson to see that she was buried in Salt Lake. These gentlemen accordingly brought the body to this city by teani, arriviug here Sunday morning. The burial took place Sunday afternoon. Deceased De-ceased leav.-s many friends to mourn her los.- but no relatives. Real instate Sales. W. E. Hubbard is about the most active real estate man in the city. Siuce he took bold of East Waterloo he has been booming things. Yesterday he sold to Martin Fesler four lots .iu block 7, East Waterloo, for jtlOO i; two lots in block 2, East drive, East Waterloo, for rv-', and two lots in block 0, East drive, East Waterloo, for $850. Fesler and L. P. Parley will build at once on their sites, both intending to build tine brick houses. Another Old Timer Dead. News is received from Ogden of the death of Hon. Lester J. Derrick iu that city yesterday yes-terday afternoon. Mr. Derrick was oue of the tirst settlors of Ogden, locating there iu 1S.V. Ho was born at Nelson, Ohio, Dec. 14, 1S27. In lSoS he was elected sheriff of Weber county. In Is70 he was appointed bishop of Weber county. In ls7l he wss elected the second mayor of Ogden and was re-elected to the tame position iu 1873, in 1S75, in ls7'J and again in lssi. Another Pioneer lone. Mrs. Jane C. Richardson, widow of Dr. Darwin C. Richardson, died suddenly of apoplexy at her residence in the Seventh ward Sunday afternoon. She arrived in this city on September 2f, 1S47, and was 72 years old at the lime of her death. The funeral took place at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the Fourteen ward Assembly hall. The V. M. C A. Debating Club. The Y. M. C. A. debating club convenes this evening at 8 o'clock over 03 East Secoud South, and will discuss "The Downward Tendency of America's Morals," subject to the motion of last meeting as recorded in these columns last Wednesday. AH young men are invited to attend. The Real Kstate Exchange. A meeting of the Real Estate exchange has been called for tomorrow evening at S o'clock at the oflice of 11. C. Lett o2 Son for the purpose of electing ollicers for the coming com-ing year. This sign of life is gratifying and it is favped that there will be a big turn out tif the dealers in dirt.
