Show Fuel Oil Cheaper Than Coal. CSKHOO, March 31. The Standard Oil company has made the lowest bid for furnishing fur-nishing find to the World's fair on the basis of three barrels of fuel to a ton of coal. The Company otters fuel oil at the rate of 70 cents per forty-two-gallon barrel during 1888 and T'J Cj c uts in 1883. The lowest estimate of the coal required was 75,000 tons, and bids from coal dealers rungiug from $3.4-1 to $3.95 per ton were received. It is therefore probable prob-able that the Standard company will get the contract. |
