Leader says; "John Curroa, at one time drum major of the regimental regi-mental band of Wyoming national guards, was found dead iu his room at Casper yes. terday morula g.i "Curroa was shorl and stout, with an abnormally ab-normally fat neck. When drinking heavily his tongue ami the tissues of his throat be. came swollen, and it was w ith difficulty he could breathe, lie attended a New Year's ball of the Douglas military company, which was held at Lusk. He drank considerably, con-siderably, and when the company reached Douglas on Kriday evening mi its return trip Curroa was iu a very had Way, He went to Casper, however, and it is thought took soms liquor to bis room w hen his retired. He w as found yesterday morn ing smothered to death, his tongue twollon and his features frightfully distorted. "Curroa was with the tirst regimen! at the encampment in Laramie and his peculiar shape and appearance attracted much attention. atten-tion. He wuh a genial man of kindly dispo sition and his death w ill be deplored by all who were acquainted with him.'' |
