Fritz Oehman, a sle ep herder, was shot and dangerously wounded Tuesday night shortly after midnight, mid-night, by John Allen, a wood contractor. Allen came to tow n late in the evening and slopped at the house of his sister-in-law. About midnight Oehman, who was under the intlueuee of liquor, came to the house and attempted to gain admittance, he evidently baing under tho Impression that Allen's sister. in-law, who Is a widow was alone. As his actions and talk convinced her that he had come for the purpose of committing an outrage on her, she screamed. Allen awakened awak-ened by the hubbub, came upon Oehman and ordered him to desist and leave the premises. This the latter refused to do, when Allen shot him in the shoulder. Infltct iug on him a dangerous and perhaps fatal wonnd. I'hy-icians were called but, after probing, were unable to locate the ball. I Oehman Is still in a critical condition.
