The Prince of Wales has sent the following follow-ing telegram to the lord mayor of London. "Our beloved son passed away at U o'clock today.'' to-day.'' On receipt of the news the lord mayor at once gave orders to have the great bell In St. Paul's cathedral tolled, and also sent the following message to the Prince of Wales: "We .ire profoundly moved by tho sad news, and have communicated it to our fellow citizens. Henry Edward Manning, Man-ning, cardinal of the Roman Catholic church and arch-bishop ot Westminister, died this morning, aged 84. Last night the cardinal continued to grow weaker and weaker until finally his prostraticu becomplete, and ho died at S:','0 after being unconscious about one hour. His death was calm, and ho passed away evidently without pain. Telegrams of regret from all iarfc af4i. world aro being received. Cardinal Manning Man-ning was well known not only for his work as a Roman Catholic prelate and divine, but also for his exertions in tho cause of temperance tem-perance and social reform.
