Show , RAILROAD TALK. A Union Pacific Attache is Confident the Bacon & Jones Road Will be Built. One of the. brightest of the local Union Pacific officials, told a Times man something this morninjf that seemed to be important. It was not communicated though until the promise was given not to use the name of the informer. It was, that it was merely an assured fact that Bacon & Jones would soon start work on the Deep Creek road. "What reasons have you for thinking so?" asked the reporter. ''I have- -several. One is information in-formation which I have received from the east. and another is a talk I had with Witcher Jones yesterday. He has some fresh news and he told me what it was. You had better go and see him yourself and try and sret it out of him." "But I have, seen him once today."' protested pro-tested the reporter, "and he tells me there is nothing new." "Then 1 can tell you nothing more, only to express my confidence that they will build the road. The money has been promised prom-ised and the thing is as certain as it can be." Special rates will be made over the Union Pacific during the Ogden races. There will be two trains a day to Lojran from now on. One of them leaves at 10:25 a. m. and the other at 1:30 p. m. They will arrive in Salt Lake at 10:45 a. m. and 7:30 p. dj. The service commenced yesterday. Neither the Rio Grande Western nor the Union Pacific officials take any stock in the "special" in this morning's Tribune which announced that it was possible that two or three roads would put on Ogden and Salt Lake sleepers from Chicago. P. P. Murray, western passenger acnt for the Michigan Central is in the city and will make a two days stay. |
