Fourtl They shall be divided into such grades as the committee on school work and the sunrintendent of schools shall find most convenient for instruction and the most rapid advancement. .fifth The studies to be pursued shall be trading, writing, arithmetic, geography, jgramraar, United States history, civics, bookkeeping and drawing, Sith Each student may choose such of said. studies as he desires, provided he is prepared for them, and limit his course to what he can pursue successfully. Seventh Each pupil will be required to furnish all needed textbooks and stationary; provided, the board shall furnish these articJes to any deserving pupil who cannot furnish them himself. All articles furnished furnish-ed by the board shall be the property of the brard, and shall be returned to the principle on withdrawal of membership. Eighth The books used in pursuing each subject shall be uniform and of the kind authorized by the committee on school work. Ninth Punctuality and regular attendance, attend-ance, quiet and orderly conduct, respectful deportment toward teachers in charge, and, in general, a manifest desire to proSt by the advantage afforded by the school shall be considered conditions of membership. Eleventh The indulgence in tobacco and all other offensive habits are strictly forbidden forbid-den while in attendance at the school. The committee was also authorized to solicit bids for the erection erec-tion of the Sixth ward school and ordered to advertise the same. The committee on supplies reported having hav-ing employed James Cope as janitor, and recommended an increase in the salary of the- janitor of the Twenty -third ward 95 a month. . Adopted.
