During the fierce and biting wind which prevailed in this vicinity the other day, a freight car standing on a siding hero was blown through a safety switch to the main track ind thence down to near Lehighton, a distance of four miles. It passed Packorton at tho rate of twen ty miles an hour. Messages were sen over tho wires to look out for the car, and it was stopped and side tracked in time to avoid an accident. Tho car passed Packerton before tho message could be sent there to catch it in its fiight. and its spei d, without a locomotive locomo-tive attached, startled nil who saw it. Aiauch Chunk Cor.
