PlDi for th Hie Musical Event th TrthfiruAete, The following statement regarding the approaching June festival has been prepared by the director of the choral society: To the public The directors of the choral society have closed contracts with the dinguished American singers Kmma ('; Thnrsby, soprano, and Myron W., Whitney, bass, to head the annual festival of the society in the large tab-ernacle, June 5 and 6 of this year. They will be aided by a chorua of 4011 voices, the great organ, a select orchestra and all the foremost of Utah's home solo singers. The church authorities have been most liberal in placing the build-ing at the disposal of the society, and the artists en ifaged have shown a gener-ous disposition, but reducing all ex-penses to the minimum, it will still be impossible to give the festival for less than $10!lO. This represents actual ex-penses, without counting anything for the services of the choral society. The directors of the society, how-ever, feel no fear as to the outcome, re-lying with confidence upon that sup-port and appreciation which the public has extended to their eudeavors in the past. The plan proposed as most satis iautory isthe same as that of the last festival. The prices of admission will bo the same as on that occasion, viz: $1 fer reserved seats for night perform-ances and 75 cents for general admis-sion; T5 cents for reserved seats for the matinee andf0 cents for general ad-mission. Subscription tickets to the three performances, $J.5(), ami all pur-chasers of subscription tickets will be given the first choice of reserved seats, a day in advauce of the general reserve sale being alloted for that purpose. Miss Thnrsby and Mr. Whitney will sintr at all three performances. The sale of subscription tickets will begin Friday niorniug. May lj, at the following places: Coalter & Snelgrove's, I). (.). Caideis', Ctah Hook & Stationery Co., Poberts & Nelden's, Parsons & Co's, and Margetts Bros'. These tickets will bo exchangeable for reserved seats at the subscription reserve sale, which will open Monday, June 1. at Coalter & Sneigrovn's, where a plan of the taber-nacle will be on exhibition. The general reserve sale will open at the same place Tuesday, June 2nd, and continue up to the day of performance. All railroads ruuning into Salt Lake have granted half rates for the festival. A suction of the house will be reserved for sale in Ogden, Provo, Logan and Park City, for each performance. Ji'o subscription tickets, however, will be sold except in Salt Lake City, and n patrons who desire to purchase subscription tickets should send price of same to any of the stores above named or to any of, the committee. Respectfully, H. U. Whitney, F. A. Vincent, J. 1). Spencer, Geo. D. Pyi'er, Board of Directors. E. Stephens, Director. of the great valley and its resources.
