Ho finds that the variations in temperature of the lowest layer, next tho ground, aro extremely small, while tho uppermost layer has often considerably consider-ably higher temperature. Tho temperature temper-ature minimum of the air layer next tho snow was always lower than that of the uppermost snow layer, while an air layer about twenty inches above the snow liad a higher temperature than the layer 1.3 inches above the snow.
