Mr. Hubert Wiiko will appear in this city tonight and tomorrow night in Clay Greene's romantic musical comedy "Peti. the Vagabond." The first aot of "Peti" is laid ia Hungary, the second in Vienna, and the third iu New York. Hubert Wilke plays Peti, a vagabond gypsy who saves the life of n young girl and ever after watches over her. The gypsy becomes a soldier, '.hen a great finger, but, through all changes in his career ho is ever faithful. His foster brother, Harold Von Sandory, woos and wins the girl with the aid of her tuft hunting father. Von Sandory is a spendthrift and uses his wife's fortune for-tune to wipe out his debts. He nlmost wrecks the old man, but his plans are frustrated by Peti, the. great singer. The baroness Elva, a young widow, falls in love with Peti, and the course of true love, us usual, is ft rough one; but all ends well for everyone except the villain. |
