The ore can be worked cheaper at SaltLake than at the mine, and by shipping a train load at a time a low freight rate is given by the railroad. At a recent meeting of the Elko board of trade the following resolution was adopted: Resolved, That the secretary be instructed to write Senators Jones and Stewart, and Congressman Bartine, inviting them to name a day when they can meet with us for the purpose of formulating some plan to raise money to successfully carry out the work of reclaiming our arid lands and encouraging en-couraging settlers to come to Nevada. |
