Judge Sterling Watts, one of the most prominent citizens of Tazewell county, Va., had a most miraculous escape from a terrible deuth a few days ago. He was riding a very wild young horse near the dopot whou the train came in sight. This so frightened tho horse that he became be-came frantic and jumped before the advancing ad-vancing engine, and was caught up on the pilot and carried some seventy-five yards before the engine could be stopped. Judge Watts was unhurt, but the two hind legs of the horse were broken and he had to be shot. Richmond Dispatch. |
