Show Headquarters Co. 940 Lieutenant Colonel C. E. Mc Carthy, 38th Infantry, who recently recent-ly succeeded Brigadier General Trott as Commander of tho Fort Douglas district Civilian Conservation Conserva-tion corps, honored our camp by a short visit Monday morning. Colonel Col-onel McCarthy made a brief inspection in-spection of the camp and expressed express-ed his satisfaction with the camp as a whole and the way the administration admin-istration was handled. A building 13 now under construe tion in the southeast section of the camp area which is to house a laundry and barber shop. Both of these departments will be run by enrollees of the camp. There are a number of enrollees in this company com-pany who are real skillful with clippers, sciscors, razors and a comb; and several boys have indicated indi-cated that they are capable of giving giv-ing any Chinese stiff competition as a laur.dryman. The fellows who operate the laundry and the barber shop will receive most of the profits prof-its derived therefrom, although a small portion will be taken out for maintenance. |
