Some of the screens most colorful characters were brought to life by a twist of the string as It were. One little fellow rendered saxaphone solo that would have been commended by the most se-vere 'critic, and another touch of music was a piano 'solo played by a dainty miss in billowy skirts. Then there was the very dashing young man on the flying trapeze who could hang beautifully. Popeye was there with Olive Oyl in tow, but something was missing, cant you guess? Yes, it was the spinach. For it seems that although marion-ettes can clown and dance, they just haven't suitable interiors for eating purposes. Marie Condas . The Epworth League Is an organi-sation for young high school people. At the present time there are very few members enrolled, but we hope to have more soon. Lurene Nepple is the president, Genevieve Rogerson, vile president, Lucile Long, Secretary, and Edward West, Treasurer. if anyone would like to Join the Epworth League, we would be very grateful to have you come on Mon-days at 7:30, at the Community Church. We will assure you that It will be worth your while to join. O Joe Watts will handle the pitch-ers. Joe has not yet reached the qualifications desired in a catchet, but he tries hard. Catchers like Angelo Pagnotta, Dan Delaney, Bus Smith, Joe Osoro, Gene Peterson and Pete Saltas have made good catching a fixture In olir high school baseball clubs. ' In our outfield we will find Max Gollsh at left, Tom Pazell at cen-ter, and at right field either Joe Churlch, Frank Mascaro or Dick Densley. Raymond Marks and Clark Wix will no doubt do a lot of relief duty in pitching. Both are young and untried as they are only sopho-mores. They have time to develop. Next Thursday we play Tooele High school here. We would like to tee you all out to watch our team perform In their first home game. Remember the date. The fame will be called at four o'clock. Spring Sports by Bailey Santlstevan Opening game for our baseball season is slated Friday, when we play Davis High School at Layton. Our team this year is not as well conditioned as those of former years, but we will put a good de-fensive club on the field. As it is early in the season our hitting and pitching must be improved. Ruf us Garcia and Joe Frlsch look like our best pitching beta. Rufus has a lot on the ball but has yet to master his control, which Is the vital asset In pitch-ing. Frlsch has a nice fast ball and a fair eurve, bat also lacks the smoothness and control. Billy Braun, a diminutive lad, will start at second. Billy looks good as a fielder. His arm needs improvement however and his hit-ting will no doubt develop as the season gets underway. Bambino Gene McDonald haa cinched the third base position and - promises to do big thlnfi this year. Bob Davis, last year's firstbaaa-ma- n will again hold down the Initial web.
