Show Constitutional Amendments Six proposed constitutional amendments amend-ments will be voted on by Utah voters vo-ters November 3. These amendments have been published as required, by the constitution to enable voters to consider them before election duy. The first three amendments ileal with the removal of the office if state superintendent of schools from partisan politics These amendments amend-ments have the endorsement of a number of educational organizations, the U. E. A. and the State School Hoards association. Trend of opinion opin-ion In educational circles' strongly favors removal of the office of state superintendent from subjection to political upheavals. Amendment number four deals with the liability of stockholders of banks, making individual stockholders stockhold-ers responsible for an additional a-mount a-mount not exceeding the amount of their stock in the corporation. Amendment number . five, .the homestead exemption amendment, has met opposition by. the State Municipal Mu-nicipal league and county and city officials, on the ground that passage of the amendment would create new tax problems for taxpayers and cause- a shortage of funds. Annual losses in revenue would necessitate immediate provision" for funds' to run counties, cities and schools. The Committee of Nine appointed by Governor Henry H. Blood investigated investi-gated this amendment, but made no recommendation for its passage. The sixth amendment provides for an increase in wages of legislators and provision for their mileage.
