Show diamond wbs in no condition for a hot tussle and the weeks ball game was completely water-soaked. Baseball Schedule Water Soaked The sports program of the week was a wash-out, in fact a triple wash-out, as far as local contests were concerned. First the Sunday game, the Magna-Gemmell tilt, was postponed on account of rain. This was disappointing to the Gemmel-lites, Gemmel-lites, who were pushed into the cellar of the industrial league by the 10 inning Pinney-Beverage tangle, tan-gle, and were anxious to reinstate themselves along the top niches. The game was post dated until j Thursday. Tuesday a game between U. S. Mines and the Gemmell club was to have been played at the local diamond. This is always a highly touted game, and the date was a marked one on many a sportsmans calendar. In this case it was the weather forecast and not the date that could well bear watching. The |
