Show F F the rush to goldfield continues the rush to goldfield the new bonanza gold camp in nye county nevada continues and this new Ul eldorado dorado promises to outrival tonopah To acknowledged to be on of the mineral wonders of the age A recent dispatch from goldfield sent out by james F obrien says the rush to goldfield continues with unabated vigor and the excitement over the showing so far made is increasing daily during the past week every available horse and rig has been pressed into service to bring out from tonopah the many who wish to visit the new camp john okeefe of cf So daville has established a new stage line and his coaches drawn by six horses now make the round trip in one day many tent houses and more substantial buildings are being erected and the music of the hammer and saw is heard from early morning until after dark A craze for leases has been caused by the phenomenal success of the pioneers in that line and a majority of those who come in are looking for ground close in which they can operate under lease the balance of the ground on the florence group has been let out myers and murphy have blocked out and leased the combination fraction and the silver pick group smith and kernick have had most of the spearhead group spoken for and a number of leases have been let on columbia mountain by the original grandpa company decidedly the best news of the week is the strike which was made by jas J harvey patsy darks clarks representative on the daisy group which he recently bonded mr harvey has eight men working and this number will be increased as soon as accommodations for themen the men can be found in the short time that he has had this property mr harvey has done a great deal of work and has succeeded in finding three ore shoots which the former owners had not discovered the one which shows up the best at present was uncovered tuesday on the vernal claim at a depth of less than a foot and at a point which seems to be the junction of two ledges the ore from this strike is different in appearance from the most of the ore in the goldfield district being a white rib boned quartz and mr harvey says that it looks very similar to rock from the republic mine in washington which would go 1000 per ton this ore on the vernal does not go that high but still the values are very satisfactory A careful sample taken clear across 5 feet of the ledge gave returns of 85 in gold and 6 ounces of silver while grab samples went from 60 to to the ton on the daisy claim the shaft has hag been sunk to a 4 depth of 38 feet 4 at which point a crosscut to the hanging wall is being run the crosscut is in 6 feet but the wall is not yet in sight two feet of ore alongside the hanging wall went 60 to the ton on the surface white quartz which looks exactly like that opened up by mr harvey on the vernal claim was found wednesday on the century group owned by Diamond field jack davis spalding and mcdonald the century is about one mile northwest of the vernal claim kane mcmahon and fletcher are prosecuting the work steadily on their group which has the same ledge that runs through harveys property and it is said they have recently got ore going to the ton they are reticent in speaking of what they have but say that after sinking 50 feet and drifting on the ledge they expect to have something to tell or rather will let the property speak for itself jones patrick and kendall have the shaft down 20 feet on their lease on the january claim and by the end of the week will have a carload of ore sacked for shipment no attempt was made to sort this ore carefully but an average sample from the first sacks showed values of to the ton the ledge at the bottom of the shaft is 8 feet wide with only one wall in sight an average sample across the 8 feet assayed to the ton two feet along the were being thrown aside as practically worthless but bannings pann ings revealed the fact that it carried good values and it is ia now being sacked with the rest wednesday afternoon H H dark clark picked up a piece of the ore that was put aside as mill ore and out of curiosity had it assayed it ran to the ton on the le lease ase of sweeney 4 co the les sees have decided to sink a per shaft through the porphyry which is now down dewji 20 feet fair assays essays can be secured from this porphyry but it is looked upon y the lessees lessels as nothing more than the country rock an extra shift was put on wednesday night and when the shaft reaches 50 feet a crosscut to the ledge will be run riggs co have not yet rea reached clied the ledge through their tunnel but the ground is s tightening up and more stringers of good looking quartz are coming in I 1 i jake martin and associates have opened up a new ledge on their lease in a trench 40 feet from the shaft the ledge is strong and big and they will crosscut to it when the shaft reaches the 60 foot point I 1 douglas daglas perrino and coleman have opened up a large ledge on ap their le lease of the red king and an assay from the rock showed values of 1760 per ton nearly all the material for the experimental cyanide plant which the owners of the combination are putting in has arrived and is being placed under the direction of dr bosqui the combination refuses to be downed by any of the new aspirants for honor and the bottom of the shaft is now in ore the averages over per ton clear across mclaughlin and turner have banded for a group of seven claims to A B E barnes of philadelphia these claims lie three quarters of a mile northeast of the jumbo and have several strong ledges from which assays essays running as high as have been received J T jones and associates have bonded the black butte no 4 and the uncle S sam for these claims adjoin the daisy on the south and droppings crop pings from the ledge assay to 8 the same parties have bonded the black butte no 1 adjoining the black butte no 4 on the east for 10 in each case the bond is for six months and 10 per cent was paid down kid kendall and pat donnelly have sold a group of seven claims near the red butte for H 0 hall and A D rankin have located the Katzen jammer kids group of three claims about three quarters of a mile from the daisy group they have a good looking ledge and expect to show up something good before very long dick colburn has sold a fourth interest in shemarza the marza group which adjoins kane mcmahon and fletcher on the west there are four claims and while the consideration was not made public it is said to be represented by a substantial figure W H ramsey and associates have bonded the anaconda group of 12 claims to J P hennessy for this group lies one half mile south of the combination H H dark clark came into camp tuesday to look after his mining interests and has decided to move his family here next month and make goldfield his headquarters in the future mr dark clark is vice president of the tonopah golden gate company vice dent and general manager of the
