Show MINERALS extraction CO SOLVES COMPLETE ORE TREATING PROBLEM by will C higgins los angeles dec 26 gardner P lippincott 1853 north harvard los angeles president and general manager of the minerals extraction company inc which is operating the slate range mine in inyo county this state eight miles north of trona reports the successful operation of its milling plant on oil gold silver lead ores and that a carload of high grade concentrates was recently consigned to lo the A S R company at selby the present concen irate output of the plant being a carload every ten days this ore an oxide carbonate sulphide and sulphate of lead in character was formerly not amenable to treatment by a combination of tabling and flotation in mill reduction but with present milling practices emp employed loved an ail 80 per cent recovery of the assay value of the heads is being made treating ore having an ail average value of 20 per ton toil the company s mill mr lippincott says is probably the only plant of this character in operation in the state and one of the few in the united states that is successfully treating complex oxidized ores in the mine workings he says ays about tons of ore is blocked out ready for extraction and milling while a large tonnage of practically blocked ore is in sight the mine is worked principally by bv tunnels connected by dinzes and upraises up raises and a campaign of development work is being maintained |
