Show COLONEL CHARLES P TASKER IS DEAD colonel charles P tasker one of the last of the west picturesque pioneer mining engineers a former officer in the united states cavalry and a veteran of the late spanish american war died in this city following a sudden attak attack of pneumonia on the first of december sixteen years ago he came to utah for the united states steel corporation to report on a newly acquired mining property liking the state he decided to remain an able geologist as well as mining engineer he turned to the oil business being employed by such large corporations as standard oil company and the utah oil company for the last five years he lived in salt lake making his holl home recently at the newhouse hotel colonel tasker was born in philadelphia june 15 1858 surviving him are his wife sarah C tasker 54 north seventh west street two daughters mrs 14 c gallagher and mrs W D thompson of green riven riv utah three sons H C tasker C P tasker jr both of 0 green river and T T tasker of oakland california and an a son stephen tasker by his first marriage |
