Show QUARTERLY REPORT OF EMMA MINES SHOWS PROPERTY IS MAKING GOOD the first quarterly report of the emma silver mines company for 1925 was mailed to stockholders by president and general manager george H watson a few days ago without frills of any kind the exhibit made and the information imparted shows that the mine since the first of the year has more than made good on the predictions advanced for it in these columns when the year opened both in the matter of development and ore production news coming from the mine during the current month is of a most assuring nature the so called snow slope workings borkin 6 s are daily emphasizing the fact that these workings ins in s are constantly expanding b and large b tonnages ton nages of ore are being placed in sight and ready for removal and shipment when the roads down the canyon are again open to heavy traffic two feet of new snow last week makes it certain that it will be two or three weeks yet before shipments can be resumed in the meantime inspiring word comes from the east crosscut cross cut being run to prove up the existence of the faulted segment of the original emma vein drag ore is appearing in greater quantity and its character is said to be identical with that produced forty odd years ago announcement therefore maybe may be coming at any time that the faulted segment has actually been encountered following is the report for the three months ending march the quarterly report during 6 the quarter there was feet of raising and feet of drifts and cross cuts driven for the purpose of exploration and considerable repairs were made to compressor plant blacksmith shop boarding house transformer station snow sheds at portal of tom moore tunnel and all machinery was placed in first class repair the discovery discovers disco verv of high grade ore made last december along tile the snow fault was developed during the quarter by extending an incline raise along the east west fissure and a certain limestone bedding for a distance of feet and in the course of extending t this development work there was pounds of dry 0 ore re mined and shipped to the smelt ing works which had a gross across value in silver lead gold copper and iron of 10 5 43 less legs smelting smelling sm elting charges railroad freight and team hauling on ore assaying and sampling refining and selling charges amounting to or a net value after these charges of and about tons of the same 6 grade of ore is mined and ready for shipment as soon as the spring break is 6 breakup up over and the roads in co condition n for hauling between the mine and the railroad which will probably be about the middle of may bythan by that time we probably will have between 1100 and 1200 tons of this class of ore mined and crammed out to the mouth of the mine ready for shipment t two small workings have been extended from the incline raise in the ye ore to th the e southeast for a distance of 20 feet each and the ore js is going out to the southeast from the main shoot shoo t in the incline raise in these workings and is of a better average grade than in the main shoot where the ore body is larger tile the metal content of the ore shipped during the quarter was is as follows ounces of gold ounces of silver pounds of lead 1172 pounds of copper and pounds of iron this development to date shows the largest body of high grade ore that has been discovered by your company since its incorporation at a point a short distance to the northeast from the discovery described above we are carrying on a very aggressive sive campaign of exploration work in search of the faulted segment of the old emma ore body which as as you probably i know produced several millions of dollars dollar s worth of high grade ore in the early days and while we have not as yet actually encountered the ore body still I 1 am very optimistic that thatis it will be found in the very near future as the work is now progressing in the emma limestone series where geologists and mining men who recently visited the mine mine agree that the chances are very favorable for the finding 6 of this faulted segment at another point about feet southeast of the ore development a very promising condition exists where an east wet west ore bearing fissure has been discovered and where penetrated shows a few inch streak of ore which assays essays 30 per pei cent lead and better than 40 ounces of silver per ton this find will be developed aggressively from now on during the quarter all operations at the mine have been confined to the three places above mentioned and the contemplated tem plated development and exploration work for the coming quarter will be carried on in these three places and will give give A important information concerning the dimensions extent land and values of the ore bodies opened and partially de in the property and will I 1 think add greatly to the indicated tonnage in the mine in general the future outlook for the property is indeed very promising |
