Show TULLOCK CREEK COAL FIELD MONTANA A coal field in southeastern montana along and near tullock creek in treasure and bighorn counties has been examined by members of the geological survey whose report on the results of their work has just been published 1 as bulletin of the survey entitled geology of the tull lock creek coal field J the report describes the geology and mineral resources resource sl of an area of about square miles lying southeast 01 of F th the C junction of big horn and yellowstone rivers the surface relief water and timber supply and commercial relations ot of the field are described and detailed information is div concerning the geologic formations N coal is the principal mineral resource of the field ii eld and an the occurrence thickness quality and accessibility of the ane coal beds of the area are set forth in detail the geo geologic agic history of the field is considered briefly and a ceolo geologic c and ana structural map accompanying the report shows the present pa slope of the rocks in the field the coal is of quality and at some places it occurs in beds 24 feet thick thic the field lies within a short distance of a railroad and can ca cheaply be made accessible when market conditions war w rant its development |
