promises to bring to together 6 ether the largest and most representative body of men interested in metal mining al which has ever been assembled the metal mining industry faces serious serious problems and representative leaders of industry will come together at milwaukee to talk over and discuss the essential problems and to cooperate in the development of national policies of utmost importance three problems of special significance to the metal mining in industry will be presented at the convention sessions first the problem of the silver producers in connection with the elimination of the protecting safeguards of the pittman act the relationship of the silver industry to the fhe extension of its distribution in world markets and if possible the stabilization of the price of silver at home second the question of a national policy relative to immigration labor shortage has seriously affected many of 01 the in states every great mining camps western mining one je realizes that it is essential that proper safeguards should be e made relative to the inflow of immigrants from abroad and the mining industry is particularly interested in the suggestions gest ions made by hon james J davis secretary of labor relative native to the introduction of legislative measures in the forthcoming orth coming sessions of congress relative to a sane wise policy of selective immigration abroad the whole ques lon of selective immigration will be presented and discussed at the milwaukee session of the american mining con ass and resolutions will be adopted indicating the point of view of the e industry relative to this matter third hird the question of blue sky legislation of a na dional onal character as it affects mining conditions in western states E very y ii mining man is opposed to the sale of fraudulent fra adu nt securities curi ties but mining men generally believe that the penalty fealty the should be placed upon the misrepresentation and not in presentation on of facts in regard to mining opportunities opportunity tunit ies n other of the character which has ha lefor lv for national legislation as been presented in washington will simply increase the jent bureaucracies without achieving any notable lid 11 and will tend to hamper the free and open development of twining lining opportunities which have made mining possible in in its phenomenal development during the past twenty five years tuesday september 25 and friday september will be devoted entirely to a discussion of these problems and the addresses will include the
