Afte a brief business meeting the time was spent playing bridge. Mrs. Ted Roblson and Mrs. Tory Toblason won high score prizes and Mrs. John West the traveling prize. Luncheon was served late In the evening. --J Copperfleld Ladles Aid. The Ladles Aid Society met last Thursday at the home of Mrs. C. C. Higgenbotham. The afternoon was spent sewing on articles for their annual bazzar, which will be held In the near future. A lovely luncheon was served to the following guests: Mrs. John Barrett, Mr Wm. Leatherwood, Miss Ethel Weiss, Mrs. Mark Han sen, Mrs. Fred Turner, Mrs. Arth-ur Flke, Mrs. W. R. Gray, Mrs. Miles McDonald, Mrs. William At-kinson, Mrs. W. E. Scott. Mrs. Dew-ey Knudsen, and Mrs. George An derson. Jt Birthday Party. Mrs. Walter Abplanalp entertain-ed Tuesday In honor of the sixth birthday anniversary of her daugh-ter Kaye. The afternoon was spent playing games after which, light refreshments were served to ten small friends of the honored guests. jt Olrl Scout Committee. A Joint meeting of the Bingham, Copperton and Copperfleld Girl Scout troop committees was held Monday at the home of Mrs. J. C. " Leiser in Copperton. Reports were made on the girl scout camping trip which was ta-ken during the week of July 13, at Charleston. Plans were also dis-cussed to start a troop fund for the purpose of financing the 1937 camping trip. Those present at the meeting in-cluded Mrs. J. C. Leiser, Mrs. Nona Carrlgan, Mrs. Roy Shilling, Mrs. Connie Harris, Mrs. Bud Aven, and Mrs. Theo Chesler. Newly Weds rated By Friends. Mrs.. Don Carpenter, Mrs. Don Stuart, and Miss Ruth Sheen were Joint hostesses at the home of Mrs. Josh Carpenter with a miscellane-ous "Backwards" shower, honoring Mrs. Leon Mitchell, a recent bride, the evening of July 22. Guests bid-den to the party were Miss Eva Walker, Mrs. Charlet Mitchell, Miss Virginia Harris, Miss Josephine Cary, Mrs. George Molton, Mrs. Clara Burke, Miss Rosella Miller, Miss Melba Sheen, Miss Merle Bolton, Miss Gloria Butterfield, Miss Mildred Shaw, Miss Mafolda Toglletta, Mrs. John Dahlstrom. A delicious luncheon was served. The tame evening friends of the groom, Leon Mitchell, entertained with stag party. Don Carpenter, Boyd Nerdln, and Raymond Mar-riott were hosts. A dutch, lunch was served to nineteen guests and the party Joined the ladles group for a dancing party at Union. The orchestra featured a special dance for Mr. and Mrs. Leon Mitchell playing "I Love You Truly" and "My Blue Heaven"!. J Canyon Breakfast Sunday. A group of young local people motored to Big Cottonwood canyon Sunday morning for breakfaet. In the party were Miss Clara Andrea-ton- , Miss Melba Sheen, Miss Ruth Sheen, Mr. Noel Kennedy, Mr. Al-lan Kennedy, and Mr. Ab Ross. -j- t- Shower for Bride. Tuesday evening Mrs. J. J. Doyle was hostess at a miscellaneous shower at her home for her daugh-ter Miss Patsy Doyle, a bride of this week. Fifty ladies were present Bride and five hundred was the Rebekahs Meet. Rebekah lodge members met Tuesday at the home of Mrs. May Chrlstopherson. Althea Chrlsten-sen- , vice grand, presided at the gen-eral business meeting. After busi-ness was dispatched, 500 was the entertainment for the evening. Mrs. Carrie Kreason held high score. Next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. D. A. Bruno at Cop-perton. Bridge Breakfast Mrs. Mike Brisk entertained with a bridge breakfast Tuesday morning at her home In Carr Fork. Mrs. J. F. Meade, Mrs. Sam Sturm and Mrs. George Chrisopherson were the guests. jl Canyon Party For Birthday. Six young couples enjoyed a can-yon party in Big Cottonwood can-yon celebrating the birthday anni-versary of Bill Mayne. A weinie and marshmallow roast featured the evening. In the group were the fol-lowing friends of Mr. Mayne: Miss Elaine Oborn, Miss Jerry Hand, Miss Lucille Jackson, Miss Melba Sheen, Miss" Ann Johnson, Miss Norma Dixon, and Lawrence Raw-ling- s, Joe Moore, Bill Mayne, Var-sa- ll Polllck, Evan Miller, and Art Peterson. The Ladles Auxiliary entertain-ed at a handkerchief shower Mon-day night honoring Mrs. Elva Jen-sen, who moved to Copperton re-cently to make their home. "500" was the diversion of the evening with prizes won by Mrs. Thelma Barrett Mrs. Flossie Anderson, and Mrs. Berneice Foster. House prize was awarded to Mrs. Ruth Ozancin. Ken-ne- r performed the ceremony. One hundred and fifty guests were present at the weddlhg and reception following the ceremony. A musical program was presented and a dance followed the program. Both Miss Doyle and Mr. Peter-to-n are well-know- n locally as for-mer students of the Bingham high school where Mr. Peterson was a member of the basketball team and Miss Doyle was active in student affairs. rldge Luncheon Saturday.
