| Show PRINCE consolidated MINE NOW AFTER DEEP SEATED ORES now that the prince consolidated mine at pioche nevada has commenced going to the deep for known but unopened bodies of fine ore interest will attach to the following description of the property and what has resulted from operations from the surface to the fourth level of the prince mine is a vertical distance of feet at this level the pumps are installed a well equipped and spacious station being cut at this point about gallons of water will have to be handled to keep the shaft clear of the incoming water the shaft now feet deep or feet below the no I 1 pump station will have to be sunk a further feet to reach the first deep ore bed this work should be completed by june 1 as an efficient working force has been selected for this important work the shaft is still in an altered siliceous lime much fractured and iron stained and which breaks very well the dimensions of the shaft which will have two compartments are as follows the working compartment four feet six inches by five feet contains a self dumping skip of two and one half tons capacity the other compartment five feet by five feet six inches will be used for manway air and water pipes the plant that will supply power for this important work is well equipped with up to date machinery the boiler plant has a capacity of horsepower coal is being used for fuel as it is found to be cheaper than the use of oil numerous tests have been made with diamond drills and great hopes are entertained that the ore in the iron manganese bed which is situated but feet below the present bottom of the shaft will be found to be of even better grade than would be indicated by the data disclosed by the diamond drilling the assays essays of the cores obtained showed in gold and ounces in silver A large indicated tonnage should be produced from the mining of this ore bed which apparently covers a large area of 0 ground at a still greater depth lies the zinc bed which has wonderful possibilities of future profits the fissure veins from which the high grade ore was extracted above the water level break through below the water level as was demonstrated by one of the drill holes which followed a high grade fissure for over feet on its dip thus the lower levels of the big mine promise a greater available tonnage of high grade than has been mined in the area above assays essays from the fissure veins above the water level averaged ounces in silver in gold and per cent of lead content at the present time there are about forty men employed at the property shipments to the salt lake smelters shelters sm elters have lately aver aged 1200 tons per week although it has not been definitely decided by the management whether average shipments will be kept up during the progress of the shaft sinking plans regarding this work will be announced during the ensuing week |
