Show WYOMING H E byars and associates have brought in a well three miles east of thermopolis Thermo polis and have caused considerable excitement in that section the oil was found at a depth of 1000 feet and rose to a depth of feet in the hole efforts to ball bail it out were not successful it is a black oil of good quality the hecla wyoming oil company of bf casper has filed its articles of incorporation the capitalization is placed at with the stock of a par value of 10 cents per share it holds leases on acres of oil land most of which is located in the powder river field edward lovewell and robert K staley of casper and edward A sproul of denver ar are the incorporators it is expected that the daily production of oil in wyoming will reach barrels by the end of the year A total of is expected for the present year and at least double that in 1918 the production is now barrels a day not counting new wells recently brought in of the twenty one counties in the state there are only two in which oil has not been discovered and it is considered probable that it will eventually be found there too john P F bowman of salt lake secretary of the wyoming consolidated oil company has selected the site 0 of the first well to be drilled by his company in the spring valley field it is at a point six miles west of fort bridger on the first fold east of the meridian anticline mr bowman states that from to acres of prospective oil land in the bridger valley have been taken under leases drilling upon most of it to commence before the end of the year |
