Show TO SAVE SNAKE RIVER GOLD charles brown and charles parker well known mining men of this district have just completed a machine which will concentrate the gold bearing sand from river beds and which they propose to put into operation on the snake river in idaho says the eureka utah reporter they have been working on the invention for a number of years but it was only recently that they were able to overcome all of the difficulties and build a small machine which is now on exhibition in ae one of the main street buildings and with which a number of test runs have been made gold which is found on the snake river and in fact in all of tile the river beds of the west comes in a floury form and it is next to impossible to recover it by panning sluicing or the ordinary process of concentration but with the machine parker and brown have invented a ton of sand and gravel can be reduced to about forty pounds and in the forty pounds of material will be found all of the gold values shipments of tile the sand and gravel from the snake river have been sent to eureka and treated in the ma machine chind the results being entirely satisfactory and brown and parker now propose to take their machine to idaho for demonstration purposes and if satisfactory arrangement arran arrangements gemen ts can be made they will sell to owners of placer ground the right to build and operate machines the process is unusually simple and economical of operation and there is no question but what the local peo people ale will be able to realize a good sum of money on their invention |
