Show COPPER production IN 1915 the production of 0 copper in the united states in 1915 passed all previous records according to tile the united states geological survey preliminary figures and estimates have been collected by B S butler who has received reports from all plants known to produce blister copper from domestic ores and refined copper at an average price of about cents a pound the output for 1915 has a value of compared with for the output for 1914 the figures showing smelter production from domestic ores represent the actual production of most of the companies for eleven months and an estimate of the out put of december the figures of a few companies for november were not available and these companies furnished estimates for the last two months of the year according to the statistics and estimates received tile the output of blister and lake copper was pounds in 1915 against pounds in 1914 tile the output of refined copper fromari from primary sources domestic and foreign for 1915 is estimated at pounds compared with pounds in 1914 and with the previous record production of I 1 pounds in 1913 records by states arizona made a record production considerably sider ably exceeding the previous record production of pounds made in 1913 the output from montana will be larger than the pounds produced in 1914 but will not reach a record rec ord production for that state michigan after two years of reduced output made a record production in 1915 reaching pounds as compared with pounds in 1914 utah again shows an important increase over the previous record of pounds produced in 1914 the production of alaska shows a relatively greater increase than any other section with pounds in 1915 as compared with pounds in 1914 new mexico will make some increase over the production in 1914 pounds and will set another record for that state california also will show a substantial increase over the previous years output of pounds and tennessee will likewise make an increase over the pounds produced in 1914 |
