| Show HOLLAND Of KAYS VILLE GALLED CALLED AT 89 Funeral services for John Holland Hoiland Hollanda a pioneer of Kaysville who died at athis athis athis his home there Monday were held in the Kaysville tabernacle Tuesday afternoon Speakers were Prest Irest Henry II H Blood E P Ellison Bishop David DavidR DavidR It R Lyon of the Ensign ward Salt Lake James Jame Hobson Robson Rupert Gaufin and Bishop Hyde David Cook offered the opening prayer Alexander Lyon the benedic benedic- benediction benediction benediction tion and H II C Burton dedicated the grave e interment taking place in the Ogden cemetery Mr Holland was bor bo March 2 25 1836 at Barton Staffordshire Eng Eng Eng- England England land and emigrated to America with his parents parent in 1844 reaching Nauvoo a few months before the Prophet Josephs Joseph's martyrdom Al- Al Although Although Al Although though only a boy at the time he was impressed with the Prophets Prophet's personality and ever remembered it with pleasure The same same year he started for the west going first to Garden Grove where he stopped until un- un until un until til the spring of 1847 and thence con continued continued the journey to Council Bluffs He started for Utah in 1850 cross cross- ing ing the plains in a freight company md and in 1853 settled temporarily in Kaysville In 1855 he settled in O Og- Og Ogden Off den where he assisted in building the tabernacle He took part in the Echo canyon war in 1857 and in 1860 married May Burton who bore him five sons and one daughter She died in 1874 lIe He married Julia Woods in 1884 He lie located in Pl Plain in City in 1876 and became a resident of Kaysville Kays again in 1905 where he lived up till his death Surviving are his widow and the following sons Joseph Holland Shelley Idaho James H II Rolland Holland Lorenzo Idaho Christopher Holland Kaysville Kays |
