Show conditions AT JOHNNIE MINE herald rhyolite nev wm win A farish jr superintendent of the johnnie mining and milling company of which captain E price mitchell is the managing director was in rhyolite this week on business for the company he states that everything is ig progressing nicely at the mine and mill the ore showing is so great and the reserves being added to so rapidly that it has been deemed best to increase the capacity of the mill which is now being done the mill consists of sixteen nissen stamps which are now crushing five tons daily to the stamps stamp and may reach six tons per day with an abundance of ore and much of it of a crushed granulated character the necessity for additional pulverizing machinery was apparent to supply this need a ten foot chilean mill has been ordered the granulated ore will be screened out and fed to this mill and it Is calculated that this will increase the capacity of the plant fully forty tons per day making a total of over tons the main shaft is down feet with numerous and eif extensive drifts which uncover a vast stretch of ore and this is being steadily added to which insures years of steady work for the present plant the ore is of a fairly good grade free milling in character and quite satisfactory in profits there are forty five men on the pay roll at the present time the cost of mining and milling is quite low for the desert country mr parish farish states that while he has not made separate computations of cost of operations because of constantly improving conditions I 1 he is of the opinion that the total cost of milling as conducted there should be under per ton he seemed to think that with proper conditions ore should be milled at rhyolite at a cost not to exceed 2 per ton mr farish spoke of his recent trip to the keane wonder and eipl expressed ased great appreciation of all he had seen in the bullfrog district |
