Show VOLUME 11 NUMBER 1 with this number the mining review begins the eleventh year of its career and a feeling of age is beginning to creep upon us those who have never nursed a paper through its incipient stages to the first round of success cannot fully realize what a labor it is and but few appreciate the feeling of justi justifiable flable pride on the part of those who have accomplished the task it takes staying power to build up a paper and especially a trade journal restricted restricts d to certain lines popular favor is fickle you can please all of the people part of the time and part of the people all the time but it is impossible to please all of the pe people ople all of the time during the past year we have endeavored to give our patrons the best paper of its class it was possible to publish and although conditions have prevented us from carrying out many plans we had made we believe that our efforts have been in a great measure successful it has been our aim to represent the mining interests of the great intermountain west in an impartial and comprehensive manner to further the interests of a great industry and make a few honest dollars had we wished to exploit questionable and dishonest propositions sit ions the dollars would perhaps have been more numerous but no monetary value can be placed upon the reputation for integrity which we have gained during the next year we propose to introduce new and interesting features in the paper and to let no chance slip by for advancement in the right direction the mining review has paid special attention to its circulation until today it ranks with the best of them and we pride ourselves not only on the size of our circulation but on the quality the paper reaches the best class of those interested in mining and the kindred industries circulating in every state in the union and in many of the foreign countries commensurate with our rates we believe we offer by far the best advertising medium in our particular field in starting the new year we wish to emphasize that we are here to stay and hope to grow better as we grow older located in the very center of the greatest mining country in the world the mining review has a large territory to cover and with the help of those who certainly should should lend their support will make it a potent factor for the good of the mining industry our patronage has been liberal in the past and we hope to make the coming year a banner one in every respect |
