himself and his elder eIder brother Wilbur and accompanied by Lieutenant Benjamin D of the Army Signal corps he not only surpassed the speed requirements of his contract with the th government but accomplished the most difficult and daring flight ever planned for a flying thing machine Incidentally he broke all speed records over a measured course His speed peed was more than miles an hour He
