Emigration canyon to inspect the arrangements that have been made by the citizens of Salt Lake for forthe forthe forthe the reception of or the veterans of the Grand Army and that if he does not ap approve approve approve prove of ot them that he be will destroy all the decorations and make plans of his own The news was received at the Commercial club last evening and arrangements were therefore partly formulated for a delegation delegation tion to meet the wizard and his retinue of gnomes gnome necromancers spirits and imps Impo and another meeting to perfect plans was called for Friday evening Some Sonic days ago it was given out that the wizard would visit the city annually and a temporary organization to receive him was organized and a committee con consisting conIl stating Il Ung ap approval approval approval and continued Interest In the city John S Critchlow suggested that the wizard also Inspect the new paving on Main street and voice volee his sentiments re regarding I garding It but it was decided that if he approved of the pavement he might ex ox express express press his views later in writing a com corn communication which P J Moran could have printed at his own onn expense The inquisitive Mr Critchlow also wanted to know whether the wizard would be accompanied by a queen or queens and the committee reported that as noth nothing nothing nothing ing had been consisting of C P McCarthy Mcarthy Fisher Harris and William was appointed to select a design for an emblem of the organization to be put on buttons and on the membership cards and to arrange for printing the lat let ter It was suggested sU ested that a committee be appointed to call can up by telephone or see personally per a list of prominent men of the city to Invite them to attend the meeting tomorrow night and to become members This committee consists of Dr S G Paul Dr J A Snyder and Claude S Williams It is understood that the organization is II to be b controlled by a board of not more than fifty directors and that the present pre ent officers will remain permanent for this yea A letter was read last evening from an Omaha member of the tho Knights of which gave information of the workings of that organization which may prove of ot assistance in get ting this organization under way also a letter from W V C A Smoot jr of Idaho Falls Ida Ids inquiring about the tion He Bald saki he had bad been acquainted with the big and little wizards of the Wa Wasatch Va satch notch since 1863 1865 18 3 and spoke their language fluently The secretary was instructed to write to Mr Smoot immediately telling him to send o at once for a membership card Further arrangements were postponed until Friday evening when it Is expected a large number will be present and when all the
