arid Exchange Place Whether thO or nO not ft t t this t Exchange Place Whether thO or nO not ft t t this t theatre is built this season depends on the demand for the building It Is said Henry Henr Ives lees Cobb carefully inspected the work on the Newhouse and Boston blocks yesterday and was pleased with the pro gress gre being ronde Dl de on these two office buildings The steel is all up and the brick and stone work is moving rapidly It is understood that the first floor of the Newhouse building will be occupied by b a bank and that attorneys will occupy the majority of ot the offices in the building In case a great many lawyers make offices in the building Mr Newhouse will put in a law library for their reference The first floor of the Boston Block will ably be taken by a large dry goods firm The Newhouse District At the entrance to Exchange Place on Main street stand the great greet Newhouse and Boston Boton blocks block now in skeleton form Just east of the Newhouse building a annex to the office building will connect it with the proposed new home of the Commercial club The Tho prop erty across the street is to be occupied I b store buildings and the Mining ex change Through the block blO k on State street the new theatre is to be erected The probabilities are that our next move will be to begin betin work on the Com Corn mercial club building said Mr Cobb I 1 have a meeting with the building com corn and the board of governors on ot Wednesday and we may decide on some thing definite at that meeting The work on the and Bos Ens ton buildings is befog bei g pushed as rapidly as possible and I 1 think tho they thoy will wUl be ready for occupancy some time In the fall fail The Tho interior plans of those two buildings will be subject to the wishes of the tenant tenants Other buildings as planned at present will 1111 be done just as rapidly as there Is a demand for the buildings We Ve do not want to build more buildings than we can find tenants for tor but we do want to build them just as rapidly as there is a demand for tor them It is possible that we may start work worle on the toe Mining Exchange or the the atre atm or the hotel hot 1 this season Nothing definite has been decided We 0 will build all the buildings we planned to build the rapidity and the order in which they the are to be built of course depending on o the demand Mr lr cobb Gobb made only casual reference to the hotel project |
