present naturally compared Beauer with who I recently appeared at the th Tabernacle Judging from the enthusiasm Mr Bauer did not suffer from the comparison Time and time again he tie was recalled recall d and twice was he lIe forced to respond to encores The last encore was after the concluding her ber r on the program when a large larg por poe tion of ot the audience was preparing to depart It would be difficult to say how any I I performer could get more mote out of a plane His range is truly wonderful His Ills touch in the lyrical numbers number was WM as delicate d I II as a spring announced this ran through the th gamut from slow show to tender and fierce This ambitious selection by the popular composer gave the audience a clear idea of ot Mr Bauers capabilities and I yet It did not warm to him till tilt the com corn completion completion i of his second number that won composition of Fan Op 12 This was applauded in an ascending scale all through till the brilliant close This was greeted with such a storm of applause that the ar J was forced forc d to respond with an en encore encore encore core From this point on to the close of the program the enthusiasm of the audience increased The third number included the prelude fuge fu e and variation Op 18 by Cesar It was followed by Barcarolle Op Ope 00 GO It Jt Is safe to say that this proved the t favorite selection with the greatest number of the audience It was followed by b the dainty I Air Ir de e Ballet al l by y Saena uy oy J S ana and Dy by Brahms Variations Upon a Theme by Passages in this selection were especially especial brilliant In it the per former proved himself a master of the piano The touch the technique and the expression wre w re all that the most ex acting could demand The
