terrible spectacle to contemplate i and one ont that I will never forget fOrge t as long longas as I live I viewed it from Oakland across the bay and my wife and I are ale I thankful that we were out shocked the entire world overtook the Golden Gate city Continuing Mr Williams said My l and I hud had arranged to leave j San Francisco Wednesday morning but wo we w wanted to have alook around I Oakland before we took the train for forthe fo foI the east We e arose early and took al a I ferry boat across the theba hay bay and ha bat hardly har arrived at Oakland when w j were startled 1 by and varicolored glints of or fire Are thai caused ones mind to conjure up vis ions of the infernal internal regions Then the great clouds of fire and smoke in one great Teat blanket of black and red
