Show proposed constitutional amendment no 2 SENATE JOIST JOINT resolution NO 6 5 A resolution proposing an amendment to section 7 article 13 of 0 the con atimion of the state of utah relating to tax rates tor or state purposes B no it resolved by the legislature ot of the state of utah two thirds of 0 all ali the members elected to each house concurring ther theraina therel aini nl section 1 2 that it Is proposed to amend section 7 of 0 article XIII of the constitution of the state of utah so 80 that the same fame will read as follows see sec 7 the rate of taxation on property for state purio purposes oses shall never exceed I 1 mills on each dollar of valuation to be apportioned as follows not to exceed 4 mills on each dollar of valuation tor for general state purposes not to exceed 13 mills on each dollar of valuation for district school purposes not to exceed 4 mill on each dollar of valuation for high school purposes that part of the state tax V to high school purposes shall constitute a fund to be called the ailigh school fund and shall be apportioned to the cities and school districts maintaining high schools in the manner the legislature may provide and taxable property within the state shall amount to lo the rites rates shall not exceed C a ed on each dollar ot Df valuation two and four tenths mills for general state purposes two tenthson tenths ot one mill tor for high school pur purposed and such levy for district school purposes as will raise annually an amount which adden added to any other state funds available for district school purposes equals 2500 2600 for each person of 0 f be school h 0 a 1 age ae in the state shown by th last preceding school census unless un lessa s proposition t increase such rate or rates specifying the rate or rates proposed kopos d and the time during which alla same shall bo be levied be first submitted to a vote of such of the qualified electors of the state as in the year tear next preceding such election shall have paid a property tax assessed to them within the state and the majority of those voting thereon shall shad vote in favor thereof in such manner as may be provided by law sec 2 the secretary lofstate ot of State Is directed to cause this proposed amendment m ent to be published as required by the constitution and to te be submitted to the electors of the sta state t a 1 at the ax next t general election in th the e manner provided by law t see sec 3 it if approved approve 1 by the electors elector of the state this proposed amendment shall take effect on the let day of january 1921 0 approved march 18 1919 |
