Show OffiCIALS NAMED fOR REGAliA New Haven Conn March 2 Yale and Harvard have picked officials for their rowing regatta in June Juno on the tho Thames They ThAY are as follows Referee William WIlllam H of at New York city chairman of the regatta Commit Committee tee Frank Valentine Valentino Chappell New London They conducted the regatta last year which was the most success successful successful ful tul ever held by these two universities ties Yale has decided not to use an Eng lish rigged shell this year Last year the English rigged shell which was put into operation by Coach John Ken Kennedy Kennedy Kennedy nedy was not given up till after atter Yale used It In the race with the University of Pennsylvania and lost the event This year the boat as proposed with an English h rigging has some stout defenders but the Yale officials will do no more experimenting and will getright get getright getright right down to work It has been decided by the rowing management not to havo have any race rowed by the crew during the Easter vacation The oarsmen will be kept here most of the recess but will simply practice in the harbor It is probable that the crew will do dono dono dono no competitive rowing till the Harvard regatta There was talk of at sending the tho eight to the American Henley races on the Schuylkill late In May but the oarsmen will go to New London to their training quarters June 1 a week earlier than usual |
