SIXTY Sim PER MOTON GH T ON PEARLS Mrs William B D Leeds Will Vill Pay the Pull Full Duty on Her Necklace New ew York June 2 Customs duties of 60 per cent must l be e paid on the pearl necklace imported from front France by Mrs Irs William P Leeds un under under Under der a decision rendered by Judge La Lacombe Lacombe combe combo in the United States court to today today today day This decision sustained the ruling made by b the collector of the port which subsequently was set aside by the board of general appraisers It was the result of an appeal taken talen by b the government from the finding of the general board After the necklace was purchased in Paris the tho pearls were separated and brought to this country countr as individual gems in the belief that they would be admitted upon the pay payment pa ment mont of 10 per cent duty which the law provides for individual pearls The collector of the port ruled however that as the pearls had been used as a necklace and were intended to be used In that form again the full duty dut of 60 per cent should be levied
